Organizing in the Kitchen--Dish Towels, Hand Towels, Drying Towels, Oh My!

I know some people buy towels just for dishes, and other towels just for hands, but my husband could never tell the difference. Result? He dried his hands on the towels for drying dishes, dried the dishes with the towels for drying hands. Not so bad when they are clean, but not good when they have already been used for the opposite purpose!

My solution?  I bought a magnetic strip with hooks on it. Pasted labels above the hooks on the magnetic strip labeling each item, "dish towel," "hand towel," "dish washing rag." Problem solved.

Flip Flops for people with fallen arches, plantar facitis, etc.

There are many inserts for shoes, but what if you like wearing flip flops? Why doesn't someone make flip flops that actually provide good arch support and help with plantar facitis. Even put massaging gel on the sole.

Changeable Framed Art

For those of you who are knowledgeable of graphic arts software programs, you may know that you can select an area in a photo and replace it with something else. For instance, if you took a picture of a landscape and the sky was overcast, you could load the picture on your computer and tweak it in Photoshop, Gimp, Photo Pos Pro, Irfanview, etc. First, you would find a photo with a beautiful sunny sky and save it on your computer. Next, you would open this and select the sunny sky with the lasso selector and copy. Then, you would open the landscape photo with the overcast sky in one of the above listed programs. Then, you would select the overcast sky with the lasso selector. Now, paste the sunny sky you just copied into the overcast sky selection. Voila! you now have replaced the overcast sky with a sunny sky.

Okay, so if you got all of that, my next invention concerns physical pictures. If you are like me and like to change decor with the seasons, then perhaps you have thought about changing your framed wall art, but thought it was too much bother.

But, what if someone invented framed art that had pieces you could replace--kind of like a puzzle. So, when it was Summer, you would replace your winter scene of snow covered grass with green grass, your bare trees with flowering trees, etc.  This would also work for holidays--you could add a sleigh to the scene or a decorated Christmas tree.

What do you think? Would you like to be able to do that?

Changeable Wall Borders

Many people put wall borders up in their homes, but when it's time to change them, it can be a real pain. So, why paste them onto the wall?

Make a wallpaper border holder/display.

Then, just slide a new border in on top of the one already there. That way, borders could be rotated with the seasons--Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter--even for the holidays, if so desired. This could even be used for displaying photos.

Trio Organizer Handbag/Shoulderbag

I had this great idea for an organizer handbag or shoulderbag. At least I thought it was pretty great. But, finding someone competent and honest to sew them for me, well that wasn't so great.

The first woman stole $50 off of me. The 2nd one couldn't ever get it done due to her busy life. The 3rd one wanted me to cut out the pattern and then she would sew. The 4th one was also too busy. Finally, I decided if it ever gets done, I will have to do it all by myself.
